Project behind the schedule

   There are 2 ways to figure it out. Both are related to schedule and they are called schedule variance and schedule value index. Schedule variance is simply planned vallue subtacted from estimated value. If number is pozitive, project is ahead, if result is negative, project is behind. schedule value index is estimated value divided by planned value. If result is less than 1, project is behind, if it is more than 1, project is running ahead. It works mostly for PMI methodology. I know in Prince2, there is phase after every sprint where main goal is to make decision whether project is bringing expected benefits and whether it is worthy to continue.
