Premature project closure.

Success Problem

The project goal is no more actual or is impassable due to the changes in the project environmet.

Impact

Project benefits is measurable saturation of the financial and also material, social, environmental and other interests of an interested party. Monitoring the project benefits is a part of the project control.

Recommendation

The premature project closure is approved at project decision milestone. It is better to loose some thousands € at this milestone, as millions € after un-successful project continuing. The project manager can prematurely stop the project only with the agreement of the project owner or the project steering committee. The project manager has to do everything possible to save the created values and to minimize the losses from the premature project can-cellation.
